Jobs were very important in Medieval Times because it's like today; if we didn't have any jobs, we wouldn't be able to survive. Jobs in Medieval Times were very important, and some are more important than others. Like a gardener didn't just plant flowers and herbs... they were actually very useful. The jobs in Medieval Times were a little more extreme than our jobs, but they all had a very good purpose. Most of the technology they used for their jobs were not much different from now. The blacksmith had a stone wheel to make weapons and armor, and we have a grinder which is a mechanical stone wheel that spins really fast so that we can sharpen our tools. Jobs in Medieval Times are very important, and not very different from jobs today.
Mathew In the medieval times there were a lot of jobs. Some were hard, and others were easy. Some made good profit, and others made poor profit. All jobs needed experience and knowledge. Every job had different personalities and interests. Some examples are:
Architects, bakers, and dyers. Of course there is more though. My favorite is the architect and cook. Also, if someone failed to complete there job, they were tortured or killed. For example a jester. Who entertained the royals. if he failed he was tortured or killed. As you can see they were picky and violent. In conclusion, medieval times occupations were very interesting in all ways. By: Mallory Weaver The jobs in the medieval time period were not always fair. Jesters, servants, and cooks sometimes did not get fair wages some did not get paid at all . Knights would take people captive and force them to be their jesters and servants. If they did not do their job right they were tortured, imprisoned,or killed. Their were also many hazardous jobs at the time such as mining and being a messenger. Mining was dangerous because of large cave-ins. Messaging was dangerous because the King or Lord you were bringing the message to might get mad and kill or inprision you. The rat catcher was a respected job because of a disease that was spreading around called the black plague that came from rat poison. This is why this time period was hard to live in.
-- Ethan There are a lot of different jobs in the Medieval times. There were Rat Catcher, Forester, and more! There was even a Gravedigger! He only earned minimal wages, but there was a one that had to bury so many people, that he got hugely rich! Also, Innkeepers hired guards to make sure that there were no big fights (kind of like riot police!). They also took pay from people coming to the inn and bounced it on a wet board. Why do they do that you ask? So they can make sure that it is not fake! Weird, huh? You would think that a Rat Catcher wouldn't make a lot of money, right? WRONG!!!They actually make a pretty high wage. Well, there were a lot of jobs, that's for sure! There were a lot more than this, though... about thirty, actually. Adios!
