William Turner was born on April 23, 1775 above his father's barber shop. William grew up sketching pictures, and he focused more on architecture. At the age of 14 William started attending the Royal Academy of Art in London and began to draw the sea. The objects in William's paintings became harder to see, he began to focus more on light and darkness in his paintings. William never married, but his father got old and lived with William for thirty years but time caught up with his father. William sometimes gave his paintings really long titles to explain his painting for example "Snow Storm: Steam-boat off a Harbor's Mouth Making Signals in Shallow Water, and Going by the Lead. The Author was in this Storm on the Night of Ariel left Harwich"

Rembrandt was a man who painted people. He was born in the Netherlands on July 15, 1606. Eventually, people started not wanting to get themselves painted. So he thought,"What if I could paint myself?" So he started doing self portraits of himself using a mirror. You might think he would get bored of painting himself, and that's why he used different emotions and dressed up. He made hundreds of self portraits of himself. Other people started doing self portraits of themselves. He became famous all around the world for creating the self portraits.
Researched by: Luke Merrick Leonardo da Vinci was a painter and a inventor of many things. Today he is known for his art, but of course he still made many inventions. Some of his inventions were the early flying machines, ariel screw, parachutes, and armored cars, just to list a few. It is believed that he started created these inventions in the 15th century. When Leonardo first started, he created the first ever modern-day flying machine. Most of the paintings he made you may recognize. Some examples are The Last Supper, The Mona Lisa, St. John the Baptist, and Portrait of a Man in Red Chalk. There may be others that you know, but I can't list all of them. ;) He started painting in 1478 when he was an apprentice to Andrea del Verrocchio. He was born on April 15th, 1452 near the Tuscan town of Vinci. A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago. That is Leonardo and his life. :) The Elements of Art are how a picture comes together and how it looks.
First, Color: The hue that is produced when light reflects off an object. An example is red, green, and yellow. Line: A continuous mark used in a work of art. Shape: An outline area. Texture: The way a surface feels or how it looks like it would feel. Value: The quality of lightness or darkness of a color. Space: The illusion of depth on a flat surface. Now last but not least, Form: A 3D shape that has height, weight, and depth. Now you know what the Elements of Art. In the space unit , we learned the order of the planets. My favorite part was when we got to build an alien. We had to make our alien adapt so it could live on the planet. Then we started to work on our planet research. Different people studied different planets. When we were all done we walked around and looked at other peoples work.
I researched the planet Neptune. Neptune has 13 moons. Its largest moon is called Triton. My alien has strong wings so he can fly in strong winds. A strong beak to crack ice. And can hold its breath for a long time to help it travel. Hey it's Anna and I am going to tell you about what I have learned about Ancient Greece. I have learned about a lot of things that I have learned about but my favorite was the Philosophers. I wrote about Socrates the first philosopher to study atheists.
Students were dropped by a plane at an unknown location for an archaeology dig. At the site, they had to uncover artifacts and draw conclusions as to:
After reading "I Am Albert Einstein," we made posters to tell about how we will never stop being curious just like Albert Einstein.
A marine biologist is a person that studies marine biology. They may work in different environments likes oceans and beaches. They also require specific skills including being able to read and write.
Our ocean was the Arctic Ocean. We learned cool new things that was a mystery to us. Some things included here our ocean was located, how big it was, and some of the threats happening in our ocean. A lot of oceans are being threatened by many things including plastic pollution and noise pollution. For example, to keep the ocean clean, always use a trash can or recycle bin to put your trash in. It's better than using the ocean as a waste bin! As a class, we took a field trip to the Dallas World Aquarium. Something cool about it was how not all of the animals really belonged inside of an aquarium. Examples are sloths, panthers, and different kinds of birds. There were lot's of sights to see. It was so much fun! My animal that I researched was the polar bear. I learned about it's taxonomy and where they could be found. I even found out about it's mysterious yellow appearance! In my pamphlet, I included a diagram of my animal, classification, and many more. In the shark dissection, we had the chance to look at the heart, liver, and intestines. This type of shark was called the dog fish shark. My favorite part was the field trip. It was a fun experience to go somewhere I had never been before. I also got to see new animals I had never heard of. QUESTIONS-How many animals are classified to live in the ocean? How many ocean animals are being threatened into extinction right now?
