Leonardo da Vinci was a painter and a inventor of many things. Today he is known for his art, but of course he still made many inventions. Some of his inventions were the early flying machines, ariel screw, parachutes, and armored cars, just to list a few. It is believed that he started created these inventions in the 15th century. When Leonardo first started, he created the first ever modern-day flying machine. Most of the paintings he made you may recognize. Some examples are The Last Supper, The Mona Lisa, St. John the Baptist, and Portrait of a Man in Red Chalk. There may be others that you know, but I can't list all of them. ;) He started painting in 1478 when he was an apprentice to Andrea del Verrocchio. He was born on April 15th, 1452 near the Tuscan town of Vinci. A LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time ago. That is Leonardo and his life. :)
