Right now, we are learning about the Greek Alphabet. The word "alphabet" came from the first two letters in the Greek Alphabet, alpha and beta, so when you put them together you get the word alphabet. We learned how to write and sing the Greek Alphabet.
We also discussed how the Greek Alphabet and the English Alphabet are different. Here is what we said: - The Greeks have 24 letters and we have 26 letters. (Megan) - Some of the letters in the Greek Alphabet look different than the letters in our alphabet. (Sophie) - Some of the letters that we have in our alphabet don't exist in our alphabet. (Leyena) - Their letters have different names and pronunciations than ours. (Arieanna) |
