Chromatography is the separation of a mixture. We are going to learn how to use chromatography to separate the colors in black ink.
In our chromatography experiment, we tried to find out which mystery pen wrote our note. We learned that it was pen B because had the same colors as our note. It had pink at the top like our note did. Pens A and E had a lot of purple in their ink. Pens C and D did not separate at all. Those two pens were permanent ink so we could not separate the ink. We learned that ink is made of all different colors. You can see the pictures of our experiment below.
