JENNAH: At the beginning of the unit we skyped a school in a different state. And we guessed each other's home state. And I forgot what theirs was. Next, we chose a country. Our country was Iraq. We mystery skyped the Cain GT class. We did a 3D map, amde out of news paper. We crumpled it into balls and made mountains, and our capital was on the tallest mountain! After we taped the balls down, we got glue and water in a pitcher and stirred it with our hands. Then we dipped perfectly cut strips of newspaper in it, and covered the balls up. And in a week, when they were dry, we painted them. And I did a dictionary of how to say a few words and phrases totaling 10. It was in one of the languages they spoke called Kurdish. It was really fun skyping, telling them facts about Iraq, and guessing the two coutnries that they were doing. GRACEE: I learned that you have to be quiet when you're skyping. My country was Portugal. The other classes was Zimbabwe. I had a lot of fun doing this. I could improve a whole lot by getting down to business and making it neat. In my country they speak Portuguese. There highest population was about 10, 500,000. Portugal's capital is Lisbon. It's on the continent of Europe. The city of Funchal is the most likely place to tour first. ALLIE: We studied about geography in this unit. We mystery skyped a class in Detroit, Michigan. It was really cool. I think it went really well. We also skyped a class at Cain. They were Zimbabwe, and we were Portugal. I made a Portuguese dictionary! That also went well. Coleman and I worked together to make a 3D map. We even made up a song about geography... Geography (clap), Geography (clap), the study of the Earth (hold hands) including plants (make plant motion), animals (make hands like an animal mouth), and human life (wave). This unit was really cool. I liked it a lot!
